jellybean fingers: NaPoWriMo #8

i went walking by the sea today
watching the waves touch within an inch of my boots
and the sand cling to the jellybean sticky-ness of my fingers

the waves pull in and out
passing within an inch of my heart
as i look at the mountains, so beautiful they seem painted across deep skies

i don't know how to live without it
each time i come back, it's as if we've never been apart

the future is a mystery, but i will live by the sea

i will live by the sea so i can run my fingers
through cool sand in the winters
and warm sand in the summers

and laugh at the tourists, as they stumble in
caught by surprise by the pull of the waves

i will continue to try and discover why the sea is so
captivating.
